The internet is only one click away on their TV screen. Using a specially provided infrared keyboard, your guest is able to access any page over the internet, using a standard and familiar web-browser, seamlessly installed in the ChoiceXS system. The only downside is they will never be able to say “oh, but I don’t have the laptop with me” any more!

Laptop connectivity

ChoiceXS provides services to your guests using the existing wiring of the building. Through our partnerships we are able to offer transparent high-speed internet access to your guests’ laptop, with no need for the installation of additional plugs or wires in the room, no need for scratch-cards or other complicated charging methods, no need for additional passwords or other authentication. All your guest needs to do is access the respective page on the TV Set and purchase the service. The rest is on their laptop screen!

Wake-up call or video?

No more misunderstandings over the phone, no more complicated instructions to use the telephone on the bed side. ChoiceXS lets your guests set the wake-up time on their own, again through the TV interface in an intuitive and easy to use way. At the set time, the TV will simply turn-on and start playing either a predefined video or the channel pre-selected by your guests! And if they change their minds, it has never been easier to cancel the wake-up reminder. One click is enough.

Hotel guide

In this section of the User Experience Interface the hotel can present and promote its services to its customers. Be it the “happy hour” in the bar(s) or the special dish of the day in the restaurant(s) or the treatments available in the spa, your guests may take a tour of the facilities and reserve the services they want to enjoy.

Is your hotel part of a chain of hotels? You’ve got mail!

It has never been easier for the reception to pass messages to your guests – either individuals or groups. The front-desk simply enters the message in your hotel’s property management system (PMS) and a small envelope starts flashing on your guest’s television. Once the message has been read, a confirmation is sent back to the reception.

Through the seamless connection of ChoiceXS to your PMS system, your guests can view their bill at any time, in real time, on their television. At the same time, with the click of one button, they can also tell the system to prepare all the necessary paperwork at the reception desk so as to save time during the checkout!

Hotel facility reservations

In combination with the presentation of your hotel’s facilities and depending on the integration level offered by the property management system installed, ChoiceXS allows the instant reservation of services offered by the hotel, with a simple click on the remote control. Parental control

In Hotel and home environments minors should be protected from having access to inappropriate content for their edge. ChoiceXS allows for parents control of the content either via the reception desk (in case a room is occupied only by minor) or by the occupant of the room who can either block certain content completely or use a password protection mechanism.  

Chat

Using ChoiceXS guests can chat with other guests in the same hotel or anywhere else in the world. ChoiceXS standard supports popular instant messaging services like MSN, Google Talk, AIM, Yahoo, MySpace IM as well as our proprietary instant messaging service for users who are not connected to any of the above. 

RSS Feeds

RSS feeds are seamlessly integrated into the ChoiceXS standard offering from all types og internet sources. The weather or news-flashes, the top three newspapers cover every day, or currency exchange prices, RSS feeds are incorporated in the ChoiceXS interface offering a “live” look and feel to it.

Web-mail

ChoiceXS standard (STB) not only offers access to the Internet but also to secure pages on the Net, such as web-mail. In this way, users can still be connected to their workplaces or family without having to open their laptop. Predefined Internet sites are available as a quick link (Gmail, Yahoo or whatever the Hotel requires) and the user with the use of the remote control and keyboard can enter any other web based e-mail service of their choice.
